A Tale of Three Nests
|
In late March, the female RS Hawks settled into their nests to start a five week incubation period.
The Cooper's Hawks started this process several weeks later.

Fortunately both Cooper's Hawks started to hang out near their nest before the leaves came back which enabled me to find it.
This nest was well-camouflaged once the leaves came back. Note that the male Cooper's is significantly smaller than the
female.
